Tommy improves Performance At ADRL Virginia
(4-25-2006) PORT CHARLOTTE, FL – In his second outing this season,
Tommy D'Aprile roared back onto the Pro Extreme stage with a 3.87 to
qualify #14, and turn a corner for Mel Bush Motorsports. The team has
had some struggles, and Mel Bush, team owner made some crucial changes
looking for consistency. After choosing to sit out Valdosta, and
hiring Quain Stott as the new tuner for the 70.5 Camaro driven by
D'Aprile, The team looked forward to improved performance in Virginia.
"I really felt confident going into this event, having teamed up with
Quain Stott once again. I trust Quain implicitly, and truly believe
him to be one of the hardest working tuners of a Blown Pro Mod, we are
lucky to have him". D'Aprile said.
"We made 4 qualifying passes, and were able to improve our performance
each time. We matched up with Jason Scruggs in the 1st round of
eliminations and our luck ran out. D'Aprile said. "Jason ran a 3.69 ET
against us and while I have no doubt we can compete with him we need
more runs on the car and more data to make it happen. The future for
Tommy D'Aprile and Mel Bush Motorsports is unknown but it is bright,
and that alone is a improvement. D'Aprile said.
The team will be sitting out the ADRL Michigan event as tuner Quain
Stott has previous obligations, "I thought a lot about what missing a
race would mean to the team, but in the long run I think its the right
decision, I want to have the front of the car painted and get some
testing done before the ADRL event in Topeka July 2 & 3" Bush said.
